June is celebrated globally as Pride Month, and with each passing year, we hope the movement gets stronger and louder! As we step into Plastic-Free July, the pride continues in the form of some pro-planet news. India has banned single-use plastic from the 1st of July, and the very same law will come into effect in Canada by the end of 2022. Moving from governments to corporations, P&G has unveiled its latest innovation – shampoo in paper packs, to ultimately phase out plastic bottles. So, credit where credit is due.
Now, the reality checks! The arctic is warming seven times faster than the rest of the planet and heat waves across the globe are getting progressively worse due to climate change. The time is ripe for us to invest in systems that minimise pollution and wastage. This month’s featured envoBLOG sheds light on takeaway packaging pollution and aims to help you make more informed decisions. We end with some good news – yet another nomination for envoPAP at the prestigious Sustainability Awards!
